BETAINE (moisturizing). Extract of pharmaceutical purity, obtained from the molasses of sugar beet. Betaine is an organic osmolyte (cells regulate their volume and fluid balance by absorbing or expelling osmolytes). Amongst its properties are its great capacity for hydration, anti-irritant and the stimulation of the production of fibroblast and collagen. External supply of betaine to the skin will help to maintain the healthy moisture both in dry environments and under UV radiation.
BACILLUS FERMENT (enzymatic exfoliant). Enzymatic exfoliant based on proteases obtained by fermentation. Its proteolytic activity occurs at pH neutral, it is an efficient and non-aggressive method for non-abrasive exfoliation. Its enzymatic action removes dead cells in order to smooth the surface of the skin and promote cell renewal.
GREEN TEA (Photo-protective & antioxidant). Polyphenols are the main constituents of green tea leaves (5-27%). Of this group, the most important are the catechins, although we also find tannin catechins, phenolic acids, proanthocyanidins, and flavonoids. Green tea has anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, photoprotective and astringent properties.
SALICYLIC ACID (acne treatment, exfoliant). Belongs to the group of active compounds of the beta hydroxy acids, acting as keratolytic agents. Topical salicylic acid treats acne by reducing swelling and redness and unclogging blocked skin pores to allow pimples to shrink. It treats other skin conditions by softening and loosening dry, scaly, or thickened skin so that it falls off or can be removed easily.
